Caught Up In Raine-L.G. O'Connor

Caught Up In RAINE

“Don’t judge a book by its cover model”

Forty-two and widowed, romance writer Jillian Grant believes hospitals equal death. Plagued by loss and convinced more is imminent when her aunt ends up in critical condition after heart surgery; she has come to equate the absence of pain with happiness. When she spots a hot, young landscaper working on the hospital grounds with an eerie resemblance to the male lead in her next novel, she convinces him to pose as her cover model.

Working multiple jobs to put himself through college, twenty-four-year-old Raine MacDonald is no stranger to loss. Behind his handsome face and rockin’ body lies family tragedy and agonizing secrets. When circumstances put him back in the path of his abusive father, fate delivers Jillian as his unwitting savior. Thing is, when he thinks of her, his thoughts are far from platonic.

Despite their age difference, Jillian and Raine discover they’re more alike than they could ever imagine. But torn between facing her own fears and grasping a chance at happiness, Jillian makes a soul-shattering decision that threatens to blow their world apart.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. What can I say? I loved this book. I was surprised at just how mature Raine was. These two were meant to be together despite there age difference. This is a perfect modern romance. I love it.

"An incredible storyteller." --Los Angeles Daily News

"Heather Graham sparkles!" --Kat Martin, New York Times bestselling author

Bold and beautiful, Lady Eleanor of Clarin--sole heir to her ancestral lands--chooses to marry an aging French noble rather than Edward I's choice of a brutal knight. To preserve Clarin and defeat the rebellious Scots who killed her father, she would gladly give her hand to the devil himself.

But when the fiery Highland outlaw Brendan Graham takes her hostage, he also inspires her deepest desires. Now, as Eleanor is swept away from her beloved land and into an arranged marriage, she will be surrounded by treachery and accused of murder. Only one man can rescue her from the torture and death that lie ahead. The man who should remain her greatest enemy…yet holds her heart--and her very life--in his hands.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I love Heather Graham books. She is a master of historical romance. This book proves just that. As always the characters are great and the romance is outstanding.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. WOW!!!! How is it that I have missed Hailey Edwards? I loved this book. It had me hooked from beginning to end. I have to say that the was Hailey writes reminds me of one of my favorite authors, Laurel K. Hamilton. This book is the first in a new series and I hope that it is not the last. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

How to Capture a Duke-Bianca Blythe

How To Capture A Duke

One reclusive bluestocking…

Fiona Amberly is more intrigued by the Roman ruins near her manor house than she is by balls. When her dying Grandmother worries about Fiona’s future, Fiona stammers that she’s secretly engaged. Soon she finds herself promising that she will introduce her husband-to-be by Christmas.

One dutiful duke…

Percival Carmichael, new Duke of Alfriston, is in a hurry. He’s off to propose to London’s most eligible debutante. After nearly dying at Waterloo, he’s vowed to spend the rest of his life living up to the ton’s expectations.

One fallen tree…

When Fiona tries to warn a passing coach about a tree in the road, the driver mistakes her for a highwaywoman. Evidently he’s not used to seeing women attired in clothes only suitable for archaeology waving knives. After the driver flees, Fiona decides she may as well borrow the handsome passenger…

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. I love historical romances. This is a very good representation of how a historical romance should be. The period was perfect, the characters great and the romance was fantastic. An all around wonderful read.

Ladle in the Grave: Soup Lovers Mystery #4-Connie Archer

Ladle to the Grave (Soup Lover's Mystery #4)

By the Spoonful is Snowflake, Vermont’s most popular soup shop, but owner Lucky Jamieson doesn’t have any time to enjoy her success—she’s too busy trying to keep a lid on false accusations against her loved ones…

It’s almost May, and some of the local ladies have organized a pagan celebration in the woods to welcome spring. But the evening goes terribly wrong when one of the attendees winds up dead, apparently poisoned by an herbal concoction prepared by Lucky’s grandfather, Jack.

Lucky’s sure her grandfather could not have made such a tragic mistake. But before she can clear him of suspicion, her best friend, Sophie, is diverted from planning her wedding to By the Spoonful chef Sage DuBois when she finds a dead man floating in the creek on her property. Now it’s up to Lucky to get both Sophie and Jack out of hot water before a killer stirs up more trouble…

I really think this series just keeps getting better and better. Lucky and company are wonderful characters and the mystery is fantastic. I started this book and didn't put it down until I finished it. Plus you get the best recipes. I hope there are many, many more books to come.

License to Dill: Pickled & Preserved #2-Mary Ellen Hughes

License to Dill

From the author of The Pickled Piper comes another Pickled and Preserved Mystery...

Piper Lamb knows how to make fruits and vegetables keep for months. Unfortunately, it’s the people around her who are expiring too soon…

After her fiancĂ© left her, Piper came to Cloverdale to rebuild her life and open up her shop, Piper’s Picklings, to sell pickles and preserves. When her ex decides to drop in for a visit—just as things are heating up between her and a local Christmas tree farmer—Piper finds herself in a jam.
But there are other visitors to worry about…

An Italian soccer team is set to play the Cloverdale All-Stars in an exhibition game. Their manager, Raffaele Conti, was a bitter rival of Piper’s dill supplier, local farmer Gerald Standley. After Conti is found dead in Standley’s field, Piper must work to clear Gerald’s name and find out who relished killing Raffaele before the town is soured by another death.

I think this was a great second book in this series. Piper has her hands full with her former fiancee showing up in town. Add in a murder and you have a great, fast read.
