Books, Cooks and Crooks-Lucy Arlington

Inspiration Valley, North Carolina, is bubbling with excitement for the Taste of the Town festival, and Lila is right in the middle of it all. Along with her coworkers at the Novel Idea Literary Agency, Lila is organizing a grand celebrity chef event, featuring food television's biggest stars, complete with cooking demonstrations, cookbook giveaways, and even a culinary writing contest.

But just as the celebration is about to start, the demo kitchen blows up, taking one of the star cooks with it. With all the explosive egos of the cook’s colleagues, it’s hard to find someone who didn’t have a motive to eliminate the competition. Now Lila will have to scramble to figure out which of her clients is a killer—before someone else gets burned.

This is a fantastic read. It took me until nearly the end to figure out the murderer but kept me enthralled the entire time. I cannot wait for Lila's next adventure.

The Virgin Witch and The Vampire King: Weddings Bells Times Four-Trinity Blacio

Best-selling paranormal romance author Trinity Blacio brings her characters from the beloved short story, The Virgin Witch and The Vampire King back in this riveting page-turner that culminates in not one, but four, supernatural Christmas marriages.

The ancient scrolls decreed that she was made for the Vampire King. But they failed to mentioned that she would also be mated to two werewolf brothers and a prehistoric vampire.

When the four of them join forces to protect her, love her, and drive her crazy, Beth knows she’s in trouble. Not to mention the fact that war is breaking out all around them and Beth has to plan for her wedding to not one man, but four.

Edward had always been a patient man, but after two kidnappings, a shooting and being cursed, he was ready to rip someone apart. However, he wasn’t the only one.

Dred and Rock Nester, werewolf twin brothers, were hired to guard the King’s woman. The only problem was she was also their mate as was the Vampire King himself.

Lucas, one of the original vampires, and mate to Beth Roman wakes up to a new world and a human witch standing before him. A war is brewing around them, but his only concern is her safety. Nothing or no one would harm their woman even if all of then have to coexist with the other men.

As much as I hate to say this, I did not enjoy this book at all. I could not connect with any of the characters and found it very hard to read. I wish that I could say something other than that. I would not recommend this book.

Muzzled/Dog Shows Are Murder-Eileen Brady

"Anything can happen during a veterinary house call, including murder. Dr. Kate Turner thinks she’s seen it all until she finds two elderly clients shot dead and their show dogs running loose in the house. Chief of Police Bobby Garcia dismisses it as a sad murder-suicide, but Kate isn’t so sure. Something about the scene isn’t right. There are twenty-seven Cavalier King Charles spaniels found in the home but one dog may be missing. Or is he? Only Kate recognizes a prized champion stud dog has been replaced by a look alike.     As she learns more about the murdered couple a twisted scheme of fraud and deceit begins to develop. Each one of her house call clients provides a clue to the mystery. Is the tattooed biker who loves to bake a hit man? Did a ten million dollar lawsuit drive the filmmaker to shoot for real?  Or perhaps the estranged daughter got tired of waiting for her inheritance? As the number of suspects goes up so does the cups of coffee and pieces of pie Kate wolfs down, leaving her nerves jangling and her pants too tight. Before she knows it someone tries to frame her for the murder. Who can she trust? The bookkeeper who stuffs her pet parrot, Capt Hook, in her cleavage or the trusted office manager who knows where all the bodies are buried?         In this “pet noir” author and veterinarian Eileen Brady takes the reader behind the scenes to mix her medicine with murder."

What a fantastic read. I was hooked from the beginning. The book was so engaging that I didn't want to put it down. I look forward to Dr. Kate's next adventure.

The Winter People-Jennifer McMahon

This was a surprisingly wonderful love story. While the beginning of the story went a little slow, the further into the story that I got, the less I found that I could stop reading. This book had everything that a good romance could want; a little bit of deception, a touch of fear, love and a little bit of magic.

Fool Me Twice-Meredith Duran

This was a fantastic romance. I enjoyed ever moment of this book. In a word it was delightful.

Reunion with Death-Sheila Connelly

Laura finds herself in the middle of a mystery when an old college professor dies during a reunion trip, to Italy, that she has taken with 40 other female classmates. I enjoyed this book, with its amazing local it was easy to find myself in Tuscany along side the author. I was guessing until the end as to who help the professor along to his early demise.

Killer- Jonathan Kellerman

This book reminds me of why I love the Alex Delaware series. I couldn't figure out "who done it" until the very end. Run don't walk to get this read. It is well worth the money.
