Four Weddings and a Fiasco:The Wedding Switch-Sharon Kleve

Four Weddings and a Fiasco: The Wedding Switch (Kindle Worlds Novella)

Abby Blackwell runs a successful wedding planning business. She’s delighted when Derrick, her boyfriend of only a few short months proposes. Abby immediately accepts and dreams of the perfect wedding at the Rose Chalet. But, when Derrick with no explanation, pressures her to get married as soon as possible, she has to wonder why and drags her feet.

Derrick Coltrane's future rests on portraying a settled, respectable and married man. All he needs is a wife—now—and Abby fits the bill. She’s successful, smart, gorgeous, and would make the perfect corporate wife. He just needs to convince her to tie-the-knot by the end of the month to close the most important deal of his career.

Hunter Price knows he’s made the biggest mistake of his life. Derrick, a friend from school, hires him to pretend he’s getting married, in an attempt to trick Abby into planning her own whirlwind wedding. Abby is selfless, sweet, tastes like sunshine, and belongs to someone else—and he just kissed her.

Two grooms-to-be—one bride-to-be and one bridesmaid. Which couple will walk down the aisle to happily ever after?

This is a great short read. Ms. Kleve does a great job of packing a lot of book into a little read. I loved the characters and the romance. I can't wait to read your next one.

Will Summer remain long enough in Sunset Beach to rekindle love and finally find the last happiness that has eluded her all of her life, or will she run away again, this time forever?

This is a great little set of books about 4 friends each in a different book. Each author does a great job and each romance is engaging.

The Witch's Wand: The Craft, Lore and Magick of Wands and Staffs-Alferian Gwydion MacLir

The Witch's Wand: The Craft, Lore, and Magick of Wands & Staffs

Discover the fascinating history, symbolism, and modern use of the wand with this comprehensive guide by professional wand-maker Alferian Gwydion MacLir. From a variety of spells and rituals to methods for making your own wand, The Witch's Wand presents a wealth of knowledge that every age and every kind of witch can use.

This is a great book for any witch. It has lots of information and great deal of information that I haven't found many other places.

The Cracked Spine-Paige Shelton

The Cracked Spine

In need of a good adventure, Delaney Nichols takes the leap and moves to Edinburgh, Scotland to start a job at The Cracked Spine. She doesn't know much about what she's gotten herself into, other than that the work sounds exciting, and that her new boss, Edwin MacAlister, has given her the opportunity of a lifetime. Edwin has promised that she'll be working with "a desk that has seen the likes of kings and queens, paupers and princes," and Delaney can't wait to get started.

When she arrives, she meets her new Scottish family; also working at the Cracked Spine are Rosie, perpetually wrapped in scarves, and who always has tiny dog Hector in tow; Hamlet, a nineteen-year-old thespian with a colored past and bright future; and Edwin, who is just as enigmatic and mysterious as Delaney expected. An unexpected bonus is Tom the bartender from across the street, with his piercing eyes, and a rolling brogue -- and it doesn't hurt that he looks awfully good in a kilt.

But before she can settle into her new life, a precious artifact -- a previously undiscovered First Folio of Shakespeare's plays -- goes missing, and Edwin's sister is murdered, seemingly in connection to the missing folio. Delaney decides to do some sleuthing of her own, to find out just what the real story is behind the priceless folio, and how it's connected to the tragic death, all without getting harmed herself.

I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. To say that I was excited to read The Cracked Spine by Paige Shelton is the understatement of the year. I love all of her books and was thrilled to read and review this book early. I was not disappointed. This book is FANTASTIC. Delaney is a wonderful main character and the supporting cast is just as great. This is one mystery that you will not want to put down. I loved every page of this book and can't wait for it to hits shelves.

No Place Like Home
(Tallenmere #4)
by
Mysti Parker

An irreversible curse, an impossible mission. Can she catch The Tyger before it’s too late?
Set in the fantasy world of Tallenmere, this story continues the saga of this tumultuous era with Mirabelle Hearton, who played a supporting role in Hearts in Exile (Book #3). It’s also the beginning of a new turn in the series called Tallenmere Unleashed. Starting here, each book is more intense, more graphic, and much hotter than its predecessors. This is not a book for youngsters or those who enjoy light romance. You’ve been warned! J

In Port Valor, it’s dangerous to be different. Especially for sixteen-year-old Mirabelle Hearton, whose psychic abilities could put her entire family in danger. To protect them, she left the city and her childhood sweetheart, Lysander Devlin, behind to live a life of servitude in Leogard’s Temple. Ten years later, someone discovered her mind-bending talents and forced her to send an innocent woman into exile.
As punishment for her crimes, she must return to Port Valor to seek out a dangerous mercenary called The Tyger. He's already threatened the lives of her family and is rumored to have killed countless others for the right price.
Mirabelle’s time is running out. She has two months to bring the Tyger to justice or succumb to an excruciating death from an irreversible curse. As frightening as her mission is, facing Lysander again may be the greatest challenge of her life.
Despite their difficult reunion, she and Lysander must band together to face an evil force that could sap the very souls from everyone they love. Mirabelle must also make a choice—catch The Tyger and redeem her sins, or give into feelings long buried and risk losing everything.

Our Questions Answered

1: Who inspires you?

Lots of people inspire my writing. Family, friends, coworkers, characters from other books and movies. I've been married for 18 years to my high school sweetheart, so he of course, inspires the romantic/relationship aspect of my stories. My kids have taught me enough to make my fictional parents realistically frazzled. LOL. Orlando Bloom as Legolas inspired me to write the Tallemere Series.

2: What made you decide to write this genre of book?
When I was little, I had a 45 record and storybook for The Hobbit. I totally wore that record out and have been fascinated with the Tolkein brand of fantasy ever since. When I was a little older, I discovered Jane Eyre, which sparked my love of romance. In the late 90's, I started playing online role playing  games like EverQuest. Later, around 2008, I began writing little stories about my game characters. I decided to rewrite them in an all new creations. I submitted one of those to a publisher(now Melange Books) and they wanted more. So the Tallamere Series was born.

The Land of The Green Man: A Journey Through the Supernatural Landscapes of the British Isles-Carolyne Larrington

The Land of the Green Man - A Journey through the Supernatural Landscapes of the British Isles

The folklore of Britain abounds with local tales about the activities of one sort of supernatural being or another giants, elves, hobs, boggarts, dragons or shape-changing witches. The stories are vivid, dramatic and often humorous. Carolyne Larrington has made a representative selection, which she re-tells in a simple, direct way which is completely faithful to the style and spirit of her sources. Most collectors of local legends have been content merely to note how they may serve to explain some feature of the landscape or to warn of some supernatural danger, but Carolyne Larrington probes more deeply. By perceptive and delicate analysis, she explores their inner meanings. She shows how, through lightly coded metaphors, they deal with the relations of man and woman, master and servant, the living and the dead, the outer semblance and the inner self, mankind and the natural environment. Her fascinating book gives us a fuller insight into the value of our traditional tales.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from NetGalley. This was a wonderful book. It is perfect for anyone interested in all things supernatural. Great job.

Haunt Couture and Ghost Galore-Rose Pressey

Don't miss Cookie Chanel's Fashion Tips

I love Rose Pressey books. Love them. But for some reason this series just doesn't do it for me. It's very well written, but I just don't care for the characters. That said I will continue to read everything that Rose has to offer.

But when a fire in the church reveals the body of a murdered man, it looks like someone is willing to go to any length to possess the valuable secret to the divinity fudge. As Ava searches for the killer—and the recipe—she could use a little divine intervention, because she may have bitten off more than she can chew…

I just love this series. The characters are so endearing and the story is always fantastic. Plus, how can you go wrong with fudge recipes?

This is a great start to a brand new series. I can't wait to read more.

Death of an English Muffin-Victoria Hamilton

Death of an English Muffin

From the national bestselling author of Muffin but Murder, baker Merry Wynter returns with a fresh tray of muffins and a case that has authorities stumped…

They say one’s home is one’s castle, but when it comes to Wynter Castle, Merry would like it to belong to someone else. But until a buyer bites, she could use some extra dough, so she decides to take in renters. The idea pans out, and Merry’s able to find a handful of tenants eager to live in a real castle. The only problem is most of them are crumby, tea-swilling old biddies.

The Legion of Horrible Ladies, as Merry calls them, is led by the terribly nasty—and fabulously wealthy—Cleta Sanson. The abrasive Englishwoman keeps everyone whipped into a frenzy—until she meets an embarrassing end behind a locked door. Evidence reveals that Cleta was murdered, yet no one is privy to how the deed was done. Merry knows she must quickly find the killer before another of her guests gets greased…

As always Victoria Hamilton has written a wonderfully delightful mystery. Merry is such a great character that it is easy to just fly through this series.

No Mallets Intended-Victoria Hamilton

No Mallets Intended

TO THE MANOR DEAD

The Queensville Heritage Society is restoring the once-grand Dumpe Manor. While Dumpe relatives and society members use the occasion to dust off old grudges, Jaymie Leighton prefers to adorn the kitchen with authentic Depression Era furnishings. A collection of vintage wooden mallets found in the house is a perfect addition to her display, but one also offers a late-night intruder the perfect weapon to knock Jaymie unconscious before escaping.

Though the attack has everyone on edge, nothing is missing from the house. Perhaps it was merely a vagrant who thought the place was still abandoned. But when Dumpe Manor’s resident historian is murdered with a mallet from the same collection, it’s time for Jaymie to turn up the heat on the investigation before someone else becomes history.

Includes recipes!

I enjoy this series so much. Jaymie is such a great main character as are all her friends. The mystery was great as always and the twist at the end made me very happy.

Murder Ties The Knot=Christy Fifield

Murder Ties the Knot

A Haunted Souvenir Shop Mystery from the author of Murder Sends a Postcard--featuring Down-Home Dinner Menus.

It’s winter in Keyhole Bay, Florida, and while the tourist trade is slow, souvenir shop owner Glory Martine is busy with her best friend’s wedding. But between managing preparations, the bride’s in-laws, and a haunted parrot named Bluebeard, Glory makes plans to catch a killer.

As her friends Karen and Riley approach their wedding day, Glory could use a break from the nuptial madness. She takes a peaceful drive to Alabama’s piney woods to pick up the wedding quilt she ordered from a supplier. But the supplier, Beth, has disappeared along with the quilt and her husband, Everett.

Glory learns that two men were found murdered near Beth and Everett’s home and that the couple is wanted for questioning. Believing they are innocent, Glory convinces them to cooperate with authorities. But when they’re thrown in jail, Glory vows to catch the real killer before one happy couple walks down the aisle and another gets sent up the river.

I really enjoy this series. But, this book, the 4th in the series, didn't have near enough mystery. The story and characters are always fantastic but I really missed the mystery that each of the other books incorporated in the story.

A Sticky Situation: A Sugar Maple Mystery#3-Jessie Crockett

A Sticky Situation (Sugar Grove Mystery, #3)

The author of Maple Mayhem returns to Sugar Grove, New Hampshirewhere the Greene family—including Dani's irksome Aunt Hazel—are busy preparing for the annual Maple Festival. But nothing kills the festive spirit like murder…

Aunt Hazel isn’t exactly sweet, but she’s not the only one putting syrup maker Dani in a sour mood. Her family is trying to help renovate the town’s Opera House, but their contractor Russ Collins seems to specialize in finely crafted excuses. And his latest one is killer.

Tapping into some unpleasant memories, Spooner’s bones also threaten to reveal a murderer’s secret, and now it’s up to Dani to catch a killer before the town is stuck with a deadly reputation.

Another great addition to this series. Poor Dani has her hands full with with her cousin Jade moving into the family home. This mystery is fantastic and I had no idea who the villein was until the very end. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Atlas of Cursed Places: A Travel Guide to Dangerous and Frightful Destinations-Olivier Le Carrer

Atlas of Cursed Places: A Travel Guide to Dangerous and Frightful Destinations

Across continents and oceans, Atlas of Cursed Places provides a unique inventory of the most infrequent-able regions of the planet. Kasanka the nature reserve in Zambia invaded by swarms of bats in the shadowy light of missing Eilean Mor lost in the Flannan Islands , through the forest disaster of suicides in Japan Aokigahara or diabolical colonial mansion 112 Ocean Avenue in Amityville, each of forty identified places also contains a troubled history as fascinating . True geographical manual of terror, this atlas flips with a feverish hand , in fear ...

This was an interesting book. It was full of information on "Cursed Places" but the way it was written just didn't work for me.

Lowcountry Bordello-Susan M. Boyer

Lowcountry Bordello (A Liz Talbot Mystery #4)

The Charleston streets are dressed for the holidays in sophisticated Southern style: topiaries adorned with red ribbons, garland entwined with white lights, and poinsettias potted in gold planters. The high class bordello in a stately historic home is certainly no exception. When Private Investigator Liz Talbot’s dear friend Olivia swears she saw a dead body in the parlor of this bordello, one Olivia accidentally co-owns, Liz promptly comes to her aid.

With her wedding back home on Stella Maris less than a week away, Liz must juggle one elderly madam, two ex and future in-laws, three ghosts in the bordello, four giddy bridesmaids, five lovely courtesans, six suspicious patrons…and a partridge in a pear tree as she tries to keep her bridesmaid out of jail and live to walk down the aisle.

This is such a great series. The author picked the perfect local for Liz Talbot and her friends. The mystery is fantastic and I am always up for surprised throughout the story.

Tending Brigid's Flame-Lunaea Weatherstone

Filled with rituals, exercises, and meditations, Tending Brigid's Flame shows how to receive Brigid into your home and make sacred all the activities of everyday life, from food magic to faery traditions, and from dreamwork to personal healing.

This was a lovely book. It had so much information that it took me quite a while to read. But that was only because I wanted to read and understand every word. Great for any Pagan, Wiccan or anyone that wants to learn some wonderful things about Brigid.

Fallen Darkness-R.B. Austin

Fallen Darkness (The Trihune Series Book 2)

The war between Apollyon and the Trihune has begun.

Lucas scours the street in need of a fix. He captures his enemy instead of kills. Spins lies instead of truth. Seeks darkness instead of light. So close to the edge with no concern for the fall.

The map was foretold. Its key long lost.

Sent on a mission to find the key necessary to defeat Apollyon, Lucas meets Kate. Fiery, powerful, unable-to-touch-any-object Kate. As his feelings for her grow, the addiction inside him wanes.

Until he learns she is not meant for him.

Find the key. Find the way and triumph.

His future with Kate is bleak. The darkness, too hard to control. The key, still lost.

Can Lucas win the battle raging inside his body in order to win the war rising on the streets?

I admit it, I didn't read the first book in this series. But, that doesn't change anything for me at all. I really liked this book. The paranormal aspect was fantastic and I loved the characters. It is very explicit sexually so be aware. This series hints at Laurel K. Hamilton for me and I love her work. So, great job. I cannot wait to read more.
